The application is entirely online on the official Government of Canada site.
What to have ready
The passport you will travel on, a working email address, and a credit or debit card.
The details must match the passport exactly. A misspelled name is the most common reason for refusal.
The steps
Complete the form, answer the eligibility questions, then pay CAD $7.
A decision usually arrives within minutes, but allow up to 72 hours.
Check before you submit
Passport number, expiry date and email address — that is where the decision goes.
Apply before booking a non-refundable flight.
