What does it cost? CAD $7
A one-off payment on the official site, covering validity of up to 5 years.
How long is it valid? Up to 5 years
Or until your passport expires, if that comes first.
How long does it take? Often minutes
Allow up to 72 hours and do not leave it to the last minute.
What if it is refused?
You would then need to apply for a temporary resident visa, which has different requirements and costs.
Do I need an eTA by land?
No. The eTA is required for flights to Canada.
