How long the Canada eTA takes
Most applications are decided within minutes. Even so, allow up to 72 hours.
When to apply
Before booking a non-refundable flight — not the day before you travel.
Without an approved eTA, the airline can refuse to carry you.
Why it sometimes takes longer
Some applications are reviewed or require extra documents. You are notified by email in that case.
If nothing arrives
Check your spam folder and that the address you entered is correct.
