How much the Canada eTA costs

The official fee is CAD $7, paid once. The authorization then lasts up to 5 years.

One payment

There are no annual fees and no mid-term renewals.

The amount is charged even if the application is refused, because it covers processing.

Some intermediaries add their own commission on top of the official amount. They are not authorised by the Government of Canada.

If a site asks for noticeably more than CAD $7, the difference is their commission.

The official address is on the canada.ca domain. Be careful with sites describing themselves as an « approved agent ».
